XY Cabin

The XY Cabin systems are modular housing units designed for a family engaged in olive farming on a plot in the Assos region of Çanakkale. Taking into account the family’s changing needs and economic constraints, the goal was to establish a flexible system that can expand over time according to growing requirements.

In the design approach, after studying modern flexible housing systems, an X cabin was designed as a core main unit that includes wet areas, and a Y cabin was designed as a larger unit—such as a workshop, room, or living space—that can be attached to this core. Depending on the needs, these cabins can be connected in different configurations, creating a prefabricated housing system flexible enough to accommodate everything from a single user to a large family.
