Çam Büfe is a new-generation kiosk design located in the central district of Maltepe, Istanbul. The current owners, who inherited the shop from their fathers, approached Habitus with a request to reimagine the long-standing structure in a way that aligns with the habits and aesthetic values of the new generation of users.
Due to the project’s scale, the building required solutions for aesthetic and functional design in a compact space. Accordingly, the design decisions progressed as follows:
Transforming structural elements such as the parapet and stairs into multifunctional furnishing components
Establishing a seamless connection between the interior and exterior spaces of the building
Using the building’s front facade as an open, display-like showcase
